Weekly Questions

Each week (before our lesson) I'll post a few questions or things in here to think about. This way you can be more prepared for the discussions. Some of these things WILL NOT be in the work book, so don't be surprised on Wednesday when I bring some of it up ;)

Week 1: 5/22/13

1. Find an obituary online or in the newspaper of a woman that stands out to you. Why does she catch your eye? Would you do things different in your life if given the chance?
2. Who is Rahab and what is she known for?
3. Why does a ruby have value?
4. Who can God use to do his will?
5. Do you let others dictate your attitude?
6. Which verse in Proverbs 31:10-31 do you find most intimidating? Why?
7. What do you think is the world's idea of a perfect woman?
8. Be honest, do you notice a person's heart first, or their appearance?
9. What positive and negative messages about becoming an ideal woman did you receive in your early years?
10. Do you feel that you have been influenced in any way by the world's messages in regard to the ideal woman?

Week 2: 5/29/13 1. Who was Abigail married to before David?
2. How do you think a woman's strength can be best used in a relationship like the one Abigail had with Nabal?
3. If the marriage relationship is in any way similar to our relationship with God, how do you think these expectations of marriage apply to your relationship with God?
4. What does it take to make a relationship?
5. What are the benefits of being equally yoked?
6. What is a woman supposed to do if she becomes (or is already) a Christian and the husband doesn't convert?
7. Just a statement: Women who marry with the intent of changing a man almost always fail. They are the ones who end up being changed, and not for the better.
8. Under what circumstances was a woman to give her opinion according to Hebrew customs?
9. What word sticks out to you in the phrase "The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her"?
10. What is financial liability? Do you know a woman who has been a financial liability to her husband/family?
11. What is meant by "no need" mentioned in verse 11?
12. Why should a woman be able to be trusted by her husband?

Week 3: 6/5/13 1. Who is Lydia?
2. What was her profession?
3. What were wool and flax used for? In a previous lesson we talked about flax. Who used it?
4. Did Lydia give up her profession after she met Paul and Silas?
5. What do your priorities reveal about your work for Christ?
6. Do you have to have a husband in order to be successful?
7. In a predominately Jewish area, did Lydia remain faithful to God?
8. Why do certain materials require different washing/drying procedures?
9. What things do you do that involve working with your hands? Where did you learn this skill?
10. In order for a woman to become successful, what do you think she would have to do?
